The short answer: The majority goes to support the AMC’s outdoors centers such as lodges and huts in the NH White Mountains and our own, local Noble View Camp, to programs for conservation, education, outdoors leadership training, trail maintenance and protection, and environmental research, and to member services. You basically have two ways to join.
The quickest and easiest way is to join online at the Berkshire Chapter sign-up page of the main AMC web site. This method gives first-time members a 20% discount.
Another way is to order an AMC membership in a bottle from us. This way you will receive a cool-looking Nalgene water bottle with the AMC logo emblazoned on it, with which to impress your friends.

Your membership will be activated immediately so you won’t miss out on Chapter outings, programs, and special events. A new member packet will be sent to you within a week after you receive your bottle. Included will be your permanent club ID, a copy of current chapter activities, and our chapter’s quarterly newsletter, the Berkshire Exchange. (The same is true for gift memberships.)
